mommy...can i help?

As i remembered, when Otnie was 2 years old, he started to help me in household chores, for him it's fun to help mommy and he enjoyed alot, but the people that surround us discouraged me not to let Otnie do it, because they said that i'm treating my son as a slave and it's too young for him to do those chores.

Helping in household chores, motivate his motor skills and helps our body to stay fit. It also taught him to be responsible, helpful, orderliness, independent and obedient.

Most of the household tasks educate him, like...how many veggies he needs to chop, measurement of how much rice he needs to cook, he counts while putting an eggs in the fridge, etc. He needs to read first before going to buy something. When going out to pay bills or to buy something, reading street/bus/jeepney signs is a must, so that he won't get lost. He learned to communicate well with people at the counter or to anyone else. 

When going to market, he learned what to buy, if it is a need or a want. He could communicate well with others... in other words he's very friendly. People at the market would miss Otnie much when he's not with me. It seems he had so many "suki" than i do. Practicing filipino language is important 'coz we live in the Philippines and he's a filipino.

I asked Otnie "Why do you love to help me in doing chores?", then he said "household chores is not a work, but a home and i love to help you." He learned to become a giver not a taker, but to serve others, what we called a servant heart.

God's Given Talent...

Otnie is always picking-up an empty bottle with paint brush to imitate JuNCurryAhn and he loves it very much. He's so inspired at Jun Sung Ahn ways of playing violin.

Otnie waited patiently as God wants him to learn about it. But at last! his dream came true. He started his violin class last July 2012.

 

Otnie learned that "Each of you has been blessed with one of God's many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well." 1 Peter 4:10 CEV

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise your youth but be an example. (Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live. Also set an example in how you love and in what you believe. Show the believers how to be pure. - 1 Timothy 4:12)

Show good example to everyone.

Flood!!

The rain won't stop for almost a week. I worried that in my mom's place would get flooded again. We prayed about it. But when my niece let me saw a picture... i was shocked!...it's flooded!! I worried much that my mom might get hurt or something bad happened to her, especially she has a diabetes. Diabetes person hard to cure wound.

But one thing for sure, Otnie reminded me "mommy, we already prayed about it and you're not helping! Don't worry much, God will protect and do it."

Indeed!.. God answered our prayer in other way around and not on our way. He protected those people we know or we loved.

I'm so glad that my mom and my other relatives are all fine.
