Sungka

Sungka is a well known Filipino game, in which two players re-distribute shells or marbles or pebbles or seeds in the two rows of holes of this board, trying to capture as many as possible in their own hole (own basement). The player who collects the most shells in his/her own basement wins. Counting before re-distribute each shells is against the rules. The clue for winning is...! to count it immediately and quietly by just looking at it (Cheaters!!  LoL!)   :))

That early christmas morning, i found sungka at gwama's (Otnie's grandma) shelf. First, i taught Otnie how to play, then i encouraged him to play with me or to anyone. He learned to count easily by looking at it.

Learning mathematics is not by memorizing in our head, but it's how we apply it in our daily lifestyle.
